At the Royal Castle, the New Year is a time to remind myself about what really matters in life.
My resolutions are the same every year: to take care of my body, my mind, and my health.
I totally understand why detoxing and cleaner eating is among many people's priority entering the New Year.
This year taking care of my body is going to be so much more exciting thanks to a whole bunch of clever (and tasty!) Quark recipes.
Quark is so versatile that I can even incorporate it into between-meal snacks.
How to add Quark to your daily diet
For example, I can use it to make a sinfully rich chocolate smoothie!
To support you in not losing the fun and love for food while fulfilling your health resolutions, below is the recipe for a lean, clean royal smoothie that even soothes your sweet tooth.
It contains chocolate and bananas, is believed to help increase happiness, and is packed with protein, vitamins and minerals, all greatly benefiting the body.
The trick is to use a high quality chocolate protein powder, which I promise will blend beautifully with Quark and the other ingredients.

Then don't miss my Mango Protein Smoothie!
Protein powder is easily absorbed into the body, where it works to build and repair muscle, skin and hair. It can be great tasting and very filling.
Bananas mix perfectly with the Quark and chocolate. But they do more than add flavor. Bananas are a terrific source of potassium and Vitamin B6. They’re also known for aiding digestion and sleep.
At first kale may seem like an odd ingredient to add to the mix, but you won’t even know it’s there!
The key is to chop it very fine and blend it well. It comes together so nicely that you’ll forget that you’re getting a serious dose of fiber, foliate, and Vitamins A, C, and K.

As for the liquid, the smoothie tastes just as good with either low-fat or almond milk. If you’re lactose intolerant, the almond milk is a better choice (remember, Quark is lactose free!).
Don’t forget the ice cubes! They froth up the smoothie and keep it just the right amount of chill.
Bottoms up!
